Center for Disaster Management

Center for Disaster Management (CDM) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 1996 by health and other professionals predominantly from the Medical School, University of Zagreb, with the main aim of provision of the medical assistance to vulnerable groups.
Mental health group encompass psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and other mental health professionals experienced in provision of assistance to mentally ill and population at-risk.
CDM initiated and performed several programs involving provision of mental health assistance to beneficiaries, including those to assist families of missing persons, refugees and asylum-seekers. (LINK na brošuru o CDM).


CDM was the co-organizer of the first Croatian Congress on Prevention of Suicidal Behavior and is presently performing a pilot program for early detection and treatment of suicidal behavior in children and adolescents.
The project «Surveillance and Prevention of Acts of Self-harm»is being underway and is implemented by the Center on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Croatia. The Ministry, together with the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, is entitled to carry out the project financed by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway.

Collaborative partners:

CDM has performed programs in cooperation with Croatian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Croatian National Institute of Public Health, City of Zagreb, World Health Organization, United Nations High Commissionaire for Refugees, UN Mine Action Center and European Community Task Force.
